Off to Africa!
Wow, this week has had some crazy ups and downs, but tomorrow we are getting on a plane and heading to Africa. Our time has been a bit crazy and here are two quick pictures of why:
We have been busy packing and compressing all of our things into zip lock bags, running dozens of errands and dealing with life’s curve balls.
See the empty space in the garage? That’s where our car would be parked had it not broke down completely by surprise, spewing out fluid all over and had to get towed the day before we left. All that saw dust looking stuff is cat litter to soak up what is presumed to be leaked transmission fluid that came from the car right before it broke down.
One way or another, we have made it to NYC and we are off to Africa.

Oh boy are we excited. We’ve never done a trip like this – it’s going to be totally different. I’m sitting in the Amsterdam airport as I reply. We are almost there.

Yeah, zippies are the way to go when packing for long trips. Flights went pretty good. Delayed to get to Nairobi, but the Dutch food on the plane was actually pretty good. And a lot of it they put in pretty little boxes. We can’t wait either until we head off to the parks!

Around the continent indeed, if all goes well we will visit 10 different countries in east and south Africa. I can’t imagine the stories we will have to share when we get home.

Zippies are the way to go! You never know when your bag might get wet in the rain, some sort of liquid breaks open in your bag, you might need a zippie for other reasons. We always travel with zippies! Great way to condense your clothes and save space.
